The amarilla is a deciduous tree known for its year-round vibrant yellow leaves which produce the famous amarilla dye.
Etymology
From Spanish amarilla (feminine singular of amarillo, meaning “yellow”).
Morphology
Amarillas grow up to 12 meters tall, with large rounded heart-shaped yellow leaves, which are especially sturdy and resistant to the elements. Its flowers are nearly invisible and white colored.

Behavior
Life Cycle
The blooms of the amarilla blossom in the spring and enter a dormancy phase in the winter. The tree lives up to around 40 years.
