The sal pamperva is a carnivorous relative of the ghost pamperva, found in the same regions. It is a solitary and territorial predator.

Morphology

Larger than ghost pamperva, 10–12 cm long and 5–7 cm wide. Soft, thin-skinned, flattened body with short, sturdy fin-limbs. Distinctive turquoise blue stripes near the limbs reflect sunlight vividly. Head is flattened and integrated into the body.

Feeds primarily on smaller pamperva.

Behavior

Life Cycle

They lay 80 eggs per clutch on rocks or sea-forest surfaces, with no parental care. Individuals live about 1.5 years.
